Summer Concerts

I was lucky enough to go to 4 of the 5 Fare Thee Well GD50 concerts, featuring the remaining members of the Grateful Dead.

Levi's was a very cool stadium, but boy do I feel bad for 49er fans in the North Bay -- that is a LONG drive!

It was great to go back to Chicago for the second set of shows (I lived there for a short time while working towards my MA degree, and one of my best friends is still there). A lot of my family made the trip out, and Garth met us there too, so it was really a great time!

I didn't want to get dolled up for any of the shows - it's best to be comfy and wear fairly loose things so that you can dance and move a lot and not worry about ruining anything! I found the jumper I'm wearing, as well as the bright pants, at Marshalls (both for under $15 - perfect). On the other nights I wore a tie dye tank and jean shorts, and a vintage black dress... nothing fancy!

Chicago was filled with fans, and it was seriously fun to watch. Even Giordano's had GD pizza boxes. Garth and I missed the final show in Chicago as we left that Sunday to head out on a Euro adventure!!

You probably heard about the rainbow that appeared during one of the shows at Levi's stadium. Also... I spy a smiling John Mayer!! My high school heart melts.
