Just after Christmas Garth and I headed to Hoboken, NJ to visit family! Hoboken, by the way, is so cute - we loved it! But for the New Year we parted ways with NJ and drove up to Boston for a quick 24 hours!
Garth's brother happens to go there for work all the time, so even though it was a short trip, it was totally satisfying. Here's what we did to make the most of our time:
We started with a walk through Boston Public Garden and Boston Common, making our way to the Massachusetts State House. From there we followed the Freedom Trail for quite some time. I loved it! Check out the route, and other info about the trail, here.
There are two graveyards on the tour, both of which are awesome and host a number of important figures in American history.
Finally, we made our way to the North End where our great guide showed us to Mike's Pastry =) I'm not a huge cannoli gal, but.... whatever that is in the pic up above is RIDICULOUS. 100% recommended (and of course I can't remember what flavor it was).
Last but not least, we ended the day at Harpoon Brewery. The beer was great, but the giant pretzel was even better!!!
